Drewry No 16 is owned by the York Area Group of the NYMR. The loco has been transferred to the Derwent Valley Light Railway for repairs.

On arrival at the DVLR Richard Gibbon and Tony Simons carried out an assessment of it condition.

The work is being carried out by volunteers from both the YAG and the DVLR with work being contracted out where required.

Jim Wright is working on the engine, which was siezed due to water ingress through the exhaust. It being left uncovered for some years. He has had sucess and the engine is now free and ready for a test run.

The cab is in a sorry state and DJ Metals of Leeds have been contracted to build a new one.

Tony Simons, Mike Pinder and Bryan Blundell have being unbolting the cab and removing the fittings to allow it to be lifted off and transported to DJ Metals in early 2022.

There is a lot to do, the Radiator and cowling is in a sorry state and once the cab is back out attention will turn to that.

If anyone can offer any information or pictures of the loco they will be gratefully received.
